After feeling completely lost trying to conceive and having no idea where to turn, finding LCRH was honestly one of the best things that could have happened to us.

After all our investigations, we found out we were dealing with male factor infertility, and at the same time I also discovered I had a cyst on my ovary that needed surgery. Despite the difficult news, we never left LCRH feeling hopeless. We always left feeling reassured that there was still a way forward.

The first time we met Dr Joanna Dear, we both walked out saying how incredible she was. We were blown away by how knowledgeable and thorough she was, but also by how clearly she explained everything. It was a completely new and overwhelming world to us, but she explained it in such a way that we actually understood it all. By the end of the appointment, she'd answered questions we didn't even know we had. For the first time in a long time, we felt hopeful.

Our nurse, Shanee, was amazing too. She was so kind and reassuring throughout the whole process. IVF can feel incredibly overwhelming, especially once you start all the medication, but knowing Shanee was always there to answer our questions or reassure us made such a difference.

Something else that really stood out was just how organised and seamless everything was. Every appointment, every scan and every medication was communicated so clearly, and we always knew what was happening next. The Wawa app was so helpful too. Being able to send a message whenever we had a question and always getting a reply from someone in the team really helped - no question ever felt silly.

One thing that really sticks with us is how every single person at LCRH treated us. We never felt like just another couple walking through the door. We genuinely felt cared for.

We started IVF in January and were incredibly fortunate that our first embryo transfer worked. Everything we'd been through had led up to that moment, and transfer day was incredibly special. Dr Dear made us feel so calm, comfortable and optimistic, and it will always be a day we'll remember.
