Fertility Pathways

LCRH offers Comprehensive Monitoring Cycles.

A natural or medicated (ovulation induction) monitoring fertility cycle involves tracking the menstrual cycle with ultrasound scans and blood tests, to pinpoint ovulation. This process provides an accurate overview of your cycle, helping to identify the most fertile days for natural conception or Intrauterine Insemination. It also helps diagnose potential gynaecological issues and also provides valuable information for any future treatments that might be needed.

  • Ultrasound scans: Transvaginal ultrasound scans are used to monitor the growth of ovarian follicles (eggs) and the thickness of the uterine lining (endometrium). Serial scans throughout a cycle can pinpoint the day of ovulation.

  • Blood tests: Blood tests within the cycle measure hormone levels, such as Estrogen, luteinizing hormone, and progesterone, and give a comprehensive picture of your cycle.

Why monitor your fertility cycle?

  • To improve natural conception: Monitoring helps identify the most fertile days for intercourse.

  • For fertility treatments: It is used to time fertility treatments, such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or frozen embryo transfer.

  • To manage conditions: It is helpful for those with irregular periods or conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) to determine if ovulation is occurring naturally.
