Our Commitment to Accessibility

At LCRH, we believe everyone deserves equal access to information about their fertility care, regardless of disability or the assistive technology they use. We are committed to making our website as accessible as possible and to continuously improving the experience for all users.

1. How Accessible Is This Website?

We know some parts of our website are not fully accessible. We are working to improve them. This statement explains what we know works well, what does not yet work well, and what to do if you need information in a different format.

Our website is currently partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard. The sections below set out the current position.

1.1 What Currently Works Well

  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

  • Most pages can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without a mouse

  • A skip navigation link allows keyboard users to bypass repetitive page navigation

  • Each page has a descriptive title to assist screen reader users

  • The language of the page is declared in the HTML to assist screen readers

  • The website uses a responsive layout that adapts to different screen sizes, including mobile

  • Large print

  • Plain text

  • A different language

We aim to respond to requests for alternative formats within 5 working days.

3. Technical and Legal Information

3.1 Our Legal Position

LCRH Limited is a private fertility clinic and is not a public sector body. The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not directly apply to us. However, we are subject to the Equality Act 2010, which requires us to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that our services — including our website — are accessible to people with disabilities. Failure to do so may constitute disability discrimination.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard, which is widely recognised as best practice in the UK and internationally, and is the standard against which courts are increasingly likely to assess compliance with the Equality Act 2010 in digital accessibility cases.

We believe accessible web design is consistent with our core values of compassion, dignity and respect for every patient.

4. Reporting an Accessibility Problem

If you find any part of our website difficult to use, or if you experience an accessibility barrier not listed in this statement, we want to hear from you.

When contacting us, it helps if you can tell us:

  • Which page or section you were trying to use

  • What you were trying to do

  • What happened (or did not happen)

  • The device, browser and assistive technology you were using (if known)

6. How We Prepared and Review This Statement

This statement was prepared following a review of our website conducted in April 2025. We used a combination of manual testing, automated accessibility tools, and review against WCAG 2.2 criteria. We tested the site using a keyboard, on mobile, and with screen reading software.

We will review and update this statement at least annually, following any significant change to the website, and whenever we receive feedback identifying a new accessibility issue.
